As Chicago’s cold winter drags on, Strings Ramen launches a new, limited-time-only winter special: Curry Ramen.
Created by executive chef Katie Dong, Strings’ Curry Ramen begins with slow-simmered pork bone broth, teamed with Japaneses curry, and Strings’ own ramen noodles, made daily in house. The new Curry Ramen is available in two location-specific versions.
Strings’ Chinatown location’s Curry Ramen features sliced duck breast and beef tongue, topped with scallions, red ginger, cabbage, wood ear mushrooms, drizzled with chili oil, $16.95. String’s’ Lakeview location’s versions offers slices of filet mignon, with bean sprouts, menma, scallions, red ginger, and wood ear mushrooms, $16.95.
Strings Ramen first opened February 2014 in Chinatown, 2141 South Archer Avenue. A second location opened this past summer in Lakeview, 909 West Belmont Avenue. A third location opened earlier this month at 311 North Frances Street in Madison, Wisconsin.
