Here's how to become a judge in our N.J.'s best hot dog joint final round.
Free food and a chance to help decide N.J.’s best hot dog joint? What a deal!
You can apply to be one of my assistant judges in the finals round of our epic competition as we visit the 10 best hot dog joints.
How do you sign up? It’s easy; e-mail me at pgenovese@njadvancemedia.com. State your full name and the town in which you live. Tell us why you would be a perfect choice as a judge.
(You must be at least 18 and a legal resident of New Jersey. Contestants must not have any dietary restrictions that prevent them from eating hot dogs.)
Winners will be selected at random. Those who cannot make one of the five trips because of their schedule or because the trip or trips of choice are full will be offered a spot on a future N.J.’s best finals round project.
The judges will accompany me on one of five trips; two hot dog joints will be visited each trip. Judges will meet me at each hot dog place. The visits will start at approximately 11 a.m. each day.
The deadline for applying is noon on Sunday, July 29.
Our 10 finalists will be announced Monday, July 30. The finalist visits will be held Tuesday, July 31; Wednesday, Aug. 1; Thursday, Aug 2; Friday, Aug. 3 and Saturday, Aug. 4.
Those chosen to be an assistant judge will help me decide what hot dog joint will be named Jersey’s best. I will make the final decision.
