‘BACK TO OUR ROOTS’ ESTEREO TAKEOVER AT THE VIOLET HOUR

DETAILS: On August 20th, The Violet Hour’s front salon will be business as usual but through the curtains and into the back room, the speakeasy will be transformed with latin beats and cocktails from Logan Square’s Estereo. The Violet Hour’s opening bar manager, Micheal Rubel (now of Estereo) will jump behind the marble bar for a very special evening. For one night only, The Violet Hour will break the house rules and feature a specialty, laid-back cocktails featuring pisco, sotol and a blender.
Later this fall, The Violet Hour team will return the favor and pop-up at Estereo on Monday, October 8th.

LETHERBEE GIN (PICNIC) SOCIAL

DETAILS: Gather round for a picnic-themed gin social with Scofflaw, Logan Square’s gin-focused neighborhood bar, and Chicago-based Letherbee Distillers. Over red-plaid tablecloths, indulge in upscale takes on backyard favorites like corn on the cob with BLT butter, pickle-brined fried chicken with spiced honey, biscuit platters with country ham, sorghum butter and fruit preserves as well as an icebox cake infused with Nilla Wafers, Crème de Noyaux, macerated peaches and topped with whipped cream.
To drink, guests can enjoy summer sippers like the Letherbee Royale Cup, a Pimm’s Cup riff made with Letherbee Fernet, lemon, cucumber, mint, ginger beer served in a single-serve mason jar ($12) or in large format ($48). Additional featured cocktails include the Pique Nique ($12), which mixes Letherbee Vernal 2018, Cocchi Americano, Lustau Fino Sherry, chareau, and the Gold Violin, a flask cocktail created with Letherbee Gin, Cretan honey syrup and lemon.
Food items are available a la carte or can be purchased as part of “the whole basket” for $40. Representatives from Letherbee will also be in house offering tastings of the product.
ORNABRAK GIN LAUNCH

DETAILS: The luck of the Irish is coming to Scofflaw,for the U.S. launch of Ornabrak Single Malt Gin. Crafted from 100% Irish malted barley and distilled in a copper pot, Ornabrak Single Malt Gin will be showcased through a selection of specialty and classic drinks like the Vesper, made with Ornabrak Single Malt Gin, Kalak Vodka and Cocchi Americano. The distiller will also be on-site to talk about the new launch and brand.
FOOTBALL TAILGATE KICK OFF PARTY

DETAILS: Put on your favorite jersey for a football tailgate kick-off party at The Moonlighter, Logan Square’s relaxed neighborhood bar and your home for the 2018-19 NCAA and NFL football season. Start your morning off with mimosas, mini chicken and waffle sandwiches, Revolution Brewing beer specials in addition to classic menu items like vegan-friendly fries and burgers. Throughout the season, grab your friends for game watches at The Moonlighter, which will feature ten televisions with the sound on as well as assorted drink specials.
