YARD genuinely has one of the best lunch deals in town. Sure you can get a crepe somewhere for 5€, but a crepe isn’t a five course market-driven delicious meal.

I think a single omelette at Ladurée is in the neighborhood of 25€. While I heartily condone and crave their macarons, your 25€ is better spent here. YARD much better encapsulates the kind of food and atmosphere that is found in the Paris dining world at the moment.

On a casual day in February, I went to  YARD for lunch since I just happened to be taking a tour of Pere Lachaise cemetery (as you do). The tour finished around lunch, and I pulled up the Le Fooding app to see what was in the area.

Luckily, YARD was just a short walk away. I had been here before for dinner, but it has admittedly been a while. Little did I realize what a fantastic lunch deal they have.

If you’re only a little hungry, you can get a fantastic three course meal for just 19€. Or, if you get overly excited about food, like me, then you convince all your friends to do the 5 course meal which includes 3 first courses, a main, and dessert, for 25€ – a huge steal.

The Food

Let’s stare at the food, shall we?

Everyone received a giant bowl of creamy watercress soup with a poached egg. I cannot resist anything with an egg. And honestly, you could make a whole meal out this huge bowl of soup with a couple pieces of that warm crusty country loaf. Alas, this would not be the whole meal.

Next up was crispy fried eggplant with labneh (Lebanese strained yogurt)and pomegranate seeds.

And then burrata with beets. (They were out of the crab & fennel toast and so had to whip this up as a replacement).

Guys, we’ve only just finished the 3-in-1 first course.

For the main, I chose the fish with an orange tarragon butter sauce and spinach. The others went for the other dishes of chanterelle mushroom ravioli and pheasant with celery root & Savoy cabbage.

And then…dessert. Ah, dessert. How I love you.

We chose a variety to share: bergamot lemon cream, clementine cake, rice pudding, and chocolate ganache.

The chocolate ganache with sea salt and a buttery crumble was spectacular.

I was reminded that this really is a great spot, worth crossing town for. I personally enjoy the ambiance at night for dinner, and like any good restaurant, they are constantly rotating their menu according to what’s fresh at the market.

YARD also has a fantastic list of natural wines, so if you’re interested in trying some natural wines in Paris, which you should be interested in, this is a great spot to do so.
