Back when Kenji first reviewed blenders in 2014, a clear winner emerged: The Vitamix 5200 Professional Grade Blender. Itâs been our top choice ever since, effortlessly blending, pureeing, and pulverizing everything weâve put in it. The downside? It’s expensive and rarely on sale (pretty much only on Prime Day and Black Friday). The good news? Right now, the 5200 is $170 off.

To buy: Vitamix 5200 Professional-Grade Blender was $550, now $380 at amazon.comÂ
Why It Won Our Review
The Vitamix 5200 is powerful enough to tackle tough tasks (think: making nut butter) while also having a very low, low setting, which prevents the lid from blowing off when pureeing hot soups. It can make mayonnaise, whip cream, mill grain (reallyâwe tried it!), and blend frozen margaritas without a hitch. We love its simple, analog controls (it has a few switches and a dial), which allow you to hone in on blending speed without a fuss. Its narrow, tapered blending jar helps create deep vortexes that suck everything down into the blades, preventing food from getting stuck in the corners and creating silky-smooth sauces, soups, and smoothies.  Â
While the lack of pre-sets might be a dealbreaker for some people (though to be honest, weâve found blender presets overrated), if youâre looking for a professional-grade standby, we canât recommend the Vitamix 5200 enough.
