Carl’s Jr. will open locations in North Bergen and Brick in 2018.

Jersey’s fast-food selection is growing by a burger chain this year, as Carl’s Jr. will open two more locations in the state in 2018.

The first-ever Jersey Carl’s Jr. opened in the fall in Somerset, and two more will start serving up the chain’s all-natural burgers this year — first in North Bergen (mid-April) and later in the year in Brick, according to Somerset owner Bhupen Patel.

Patel said the Somerset location has done well, but he expects even more traffic at the North Bergen location, which will be located on busy Tonelle Avenue.

Eight more N.J. locations will open before 2020, and the company plans to open even more locations after 2020, Patel said.

The first two New York Carl’s Jr. locations opened in Manhattan and Brooklyn in January.

The California-based began as a hotdog stand in the 1940s and now boasts more than 1,300 stores, though the majority are located in the western U.S.
