In celebration of Mexican Independence Day (September 16), Taco Joint in River North and Lincoln Park will feature guacamole, taco and margarita specials from Friday, September 14 to Sunday, September 16. Inspired by the colors of the Mexican flag, Taco Joint’s Tricolor Guacamole is topped with roasted nopal salsa, queso fresco and fresh pomegranate ($9). The Chile En Nogada Taco (a nod the traditional chiles en nogada dish) features spiced pulled pork with roasted poblano pepper, diced fruit, raisins, brandied walnut sauce and fresh pomegranate ($4.50). Pair your guac’ and taco with Taco Joint’s special Kiwi-Cactus Pear Margarita, made with Cuervo Tradicional Reposado tequila, kiwi, cactus pear, lemon-lime, agave nectar and sugar-salt rim ($10).
